Love at First Sight

It is confirmed, yet again.  I believe (oh, I Believe!) in love at first sight. Yesterday, with HH (Handsome Husband) holding my hand in radiology at Community General, we met our daughter via ultrasound! She kicked and turned and threw her hands up and soundlessly sang songs as her lips moved open and closed.  We saw the four chambers of her heart, the two halves of her brain, the teeny-tiny bones in the curve of her spine, and an umbilical cord that created a miniature treble clef.  We were grateful for her immodesty, as we know now that She is a She!

How is it that I am in love, so desperately, with this little creature whom we have seen in blurry black and white only?  I don't know, but I will tell you it was one of the most thrilling, wordless, breathless, tearful experiences of my life.

To lil' one

In about an hour and a half, lil' one, I am going to get to see you! We are going for our twenty-week ultrasound after I teach Symphonic Band, and Dad is meeting us. I have been so excited all day today, and I have orange juice ready to go. They say that getting a little oj into you will help you dance for the ultrasound. I figure, today you have been to percussion, trumpet, trombone, euphonium, and tuba lessons, as well as two full band rehearsals... if you weren't dancing already, then now is the time! We find out if you're a boy or girl, see your heart beat, see you move... I can't wait!

Well, Hello!

So, I journal all the time:  while I'm driving, in between teaching lessons, before falling asleep at night, in Shavasana...   It seems, however, that pen never quite makes it to the paper (or fingers to keyboard, as it were) and so here goes.  A lil' one is on the way, and I am hoping to chronicle the journey of becoming a Mama inspired by my daily Oms. Welcome and Namaste!
